Gran Canaria did not have any difficulties advancing to the EuroCup stage smashing Flying Foxes 101:56 in Game 2. Spanish squad was too good in all the aspects of the game and took the massive win. Flavia de Souza (187-F-82) led the winners with 23 points and 10 rebounds. Tiina Sten (185-G/F-85, college: St.John's) nailed 16, while Reetta Piipari (170-G-80, college: Xavier) added 14, with 6 assists. Crista Ricketts (185-F-85, agency: Regeneracom Sports, college: La Salle) ended up with 25 points, while Romana Vynuchalova (193-F/C-86, college: Penn St.) scored 10. Gran Canaria wins 181-118 as a total of two games.
Gran Canaria claimed an 80:62 triumph at the Flying Foxes to take a stranglehold on their tie after game 1.
Gran Canaria made sure there would be no comeback by outscoring the Austrians 13:2 in the opening tip of the game. Tiina Sten scored for 32:13 at the end of the first period. The game continued to be in the same current with the dominance of the local side. Dehaven was the last to score at the half as the board showed 51:26. In the third period Flying Foxes had even difficulties to score and finished the quarter with 9 points. It gave the hosts 77:35 advantage entering the last period.
